Our colleague Htet Htet Oo is one of the 160 women featured by aUnited Nations Genev photo exhibit "Not a Woman's Job?". The exhibit highlights entrepreneurs, pilots, engineers, athletes and other women who have contributed, through their jobs, to breaking gender stereotypes.

Htet Htet Oo is a humanitarian officer. On this picture taken in Kachin State, Myanmar, in 2011, she's talking to Kawt Mai, a displaced woman, about the education needs of her children and livelihood opportunities.

“The most rewarding aspect of my job is the people. It is the people with whom I work that inspire me to do more. Their stories, how a mother from a war-torn area did everything to feed and educate her children; how a young woman who once faced gender inequality is now standing up and speaking out for other women in the same situation; or how a child who lost one of his eyes in a landmine blast kept his hope of becoming an engineer, inspire me, give me strength and hope, and help me to become a better person.”

People like Htet Htet are helping advancing women's empowerment and gender equality, and prove that women can do any job.
