Yanira embodies resilience.
She arrived in Colombia in 2016 and looks after Venezuelan refugees in Pasto, a city near the Colombian border with Ecuador.
Over time she has gained recognition for being one of the first to organize and help groups of Venezuelan refugees and migrants in southern Colombia.
This is how Yanira became a representative of the Venezuelan community in Colombia with COLVENZ, an organizations that supports the refugee and migrant population with information and promotes integration between Venezuelans and Colombians.
It has been a challenge for Yanira to balance her community work, teach her children at home and manage the economic challenges faced by her family.
But she has persevered on.
