Meet Ouédraogo and her little ones, who are part of a market garden project in Burkina Faso. Alongside lots of other moms and kids, they are working to rebuild their lives after being displaced by conflict.
In this market garden, displaced women like Ouédraogo work with their host community to grow veggies for families, as well as selling at the market. It is a great green space that helps vulnerable people gain new skills, generate an income and have direct access to delicious fresh fruits & veggies
In Burkina Faso and other countries, the World Food Programme (WFP) works with local communities to prevent and treat malnutrition, including in children under five years old, as well as pregnant and breastfeeding women. Activities include screening and treatment, setting up mothers' support groups and supporting community garden markets like this one.
