The diverse renewable energy technologies available to us today already give us the necessary tools to decarbonize the energy sector.
However, to achieve the climate objectives set by the international community, the key issue is the pace with which we transition to these technologies from more polluting alternatives.
During the past decade, renewable energy has experienced staggering growth and is set to grow even faster in the coming years. However, to meet the Paris Agreement temperature goals, the pace must be significantly accelerated.
To keep the 1.5C goal within reach, investments in the transition to renewable energy must increase by 30% in comparison to planned investments (according to the International Renewable Energy Agency IRENA). #ItsPossible
